There's one simple thing that's made me a better father, husband, friend and person in general. I've asked one question - "am I the <relation> I'd want for myself?". For example, with my daughter I think - am I the father that I would want if I were in her shoes? It makes me reflect on a lot. Simple things like taking the time to help her with homework, make pancakes together, teaching her to ride a bike, not getting mad when she's messing around at bed time not going to sleep... more time, more patience... It's helped an autist that lacks emotion (particularly empathy) like me a lot, and the more I practice it, the better I seem to be for others. Just thought I'd put it out there randomly, as it might help someone else. Anyway, goodnight CT.
