Given the ETH purchases @SharpLinkGaming is making and the shared interests with @Consensys + SharpLink Chariman @ethereumJoseph, what if SharpLink deploys its staked ETH holdings (currently $1.9B) onto @LineaBuild? 😉 Linea would rank #4 or #5 according to @l2beat valued secured, with just 50% or more of SharpLink's $1.9B in staked ETH. At an assumed ETH staking yield of 2.7%, SharpLink treasury is on track to generate 14,092 ETH yield per year (~$50M). Plus, I would bet the average ETH yield achieved will be much higher (4-6% conservatively generating +$100M annually). This size of ETH-denominated economic activity could be rocket fuel for accelerating the DeFi economy on Linea. And this doesn't even take into account future LINEA-denominated rewards which will likely go live with their upcoming TGE. The drawback to all of this (or call it a positive and why I love free markets) is the markets will put pressure on SBET and other ETH DATs to continually compete for better ETH returns and so Linea has to attract and deliver better DeFi yields long term or risk losing this ETH liquidity. There's an argument to be made that the staked ETH in SharpLink, deployed on Linea, will also bolster the ETH price thanks to 20% of transaction fees (in ETH) burned, something I would like to see other major Ethereum L2s consider adopting. As @KyleReidhead recently shared with us on a new @edge_pod, DeFi Summer 2.0 will be fueled by this competition among ETH DATs to generate the best ETH yield return onchain, for the public markets.
