AI disruption is making some fundamental truths surface - not because they are new, but because the introduction of new paradigms prompts us to rethink things. It is an invitation to question common narratives and established processes.
A prominent example is the importance of taste and design in business. The advantage of great branding has long been demonstrated in the market, yet has previously been dismissed under the pretense that objective product features and capabilities mattered more.
Great design is a powerful communicator and value creation medium. It expresses what words can rarely compensate for. It informs how we understand, use, and value things. It has always been important, and will continue to be important.
It is a good reminder that we should not need paradigm shifts to question and surface truths. It is also a good reminder that value creation is not just objective and tangible - there is an immense opportunity for value to be created psychologically, with strategic framing, great branding, and visual design.
