PJM has issued a Maximum Generation Alert for tomorrow Jan 27th. It expects load to hit an all time winter record of 147.2 GW in the morning. In addition, PJM expects 3 otherwise record breaking days back to back on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. - In November when looking ahead to the winter, PJM expected a record peak but of 145.7 GW, so tomorrow would be 1.5 GW higher - The previous winter record was last January at 143.7 GW. Since last winter, PJM has added 4.8 GW ICAP (mostly solar) which translates to about 1 GW of accredited capacity - If PJM also faces a primary reserve shortage tomorrow or other even more severe conditions a performance assessment interval (PAI) will be called and resources evaluated for performance vs their accreditation.
