Hours worked per year 🇪🇺 European Union: 1,571 🇺🇸 United States: 1,811 (OECD)
It really is shocking to really see how huge the work culture difference is once you work with both Many years ago I had a marketing related business and had a few American employees but most were European, I always needed extra working hours from my employees and paid well for them, the Europeans almost never agreed to stay overtime while Americans almost all stayed - funny thing is I wouldn’t even say they really achieved much more work than the group that left early You can even see the mindset difference in simpler daily things, “hustlers” take their dog on a walk and listen to an audiobook or some podcast while average euro takes a beer and chills in the park or beach with his dog Ofc I’m generalizing a lot here but we can all agree average euro has a better life work balance Is it laziness? Appreciation of life? Idk, but I think older Europeans figured the balance out pretty well
